Project Synopsis
As Phase I of a three-building medical complex, Lauer-Manguso designed a 60,000 sf multi-tenant facility. This building contains two urology groups, imaging center, cancer care suite, and a medical management group.
The building was designed with “simplicity” in form and welcoming lobby to ease patients concerns before medical visits. The lobby contains a small food service area and lounge seating where patients or family members can relax before procedures are done.
Colors, materials, lighting and details are coordinated throughout the building presenting a unified “feel” to patients who frequently use more than a single medical service in the facility. The design theme purposely avoided a sterile environment commonly associated with medical facilities.
Other features include: a separate entrance for doctors and staff, Varian machine vault for x-ray treatments, state of the art conference center for doctors’ use, specialized heat recovery system, a generator to power the entire building, and numerous energy saving design features.
